Cade oil for hooves since antiquity

True cade oil penetrates deeply into the horn, softens it, seals cracks and destroys the pathogens responsible for the main hoof conditions. Unlike surface hoof greases, cade oil works from the inside through its phenolic molecules.

Conditions treated

• Thrush (fourchette pourrie): apply pure cade oil with a brush twice daily for 5–10 days.
• Seimes (wall cracks): apply pure to disinfect and slow progression.
• Soft soles: dilute 50% in vaseline oil to treat without damaging softened horn.
• Preventive maintenance: 1 application per week on clean, dry hoof.

Step-by-step protocol

1. Clean the hoof with a hoof pick and brush.
2. Dry the sole, frog and white line.
3. Apply generously with a stiff brush on frog, sole and crevices.
4. Leave 30 minutes, then stable on dry bedding.
5. Repeat: 1×/week for maintenance, 2×/day for intensive treatment.
